This is Important People! ALPAWatch works hard to bring you as much election information as possible in an easy to use, one-stop location. With the Candidates permission, we post all their published election materials, as well as the ALPAWatch Candidate Questionnaire. In that Questionnaire, we try to draw out the Candidates on some of the more important issues of the day. It is up to you to dig through it all, read between the lines and cast an informed vote. If you cannot tell the difference between candidates or don't understand their campaign letter, CALL THEM! Their Contact Information is usually in their Campaign letters, but if you need help, email us alpawatch@comcast.net . These elections are not (or at least should not be) just a popularity contest. The pilots you elect have a drastic affect on your career, good and bad. You must educate yourselves on the candidates. Look beneath the surface. Call them. Do whatever you have to in order to Cast an Informed Vote. |

| * Due to the large number of pilots in ATL (C44), ATL has 2 Capt. Reps and 2 FO Reps. Candidates run for these 4 positions, so a total of 4 pilots are nominated for CA and 4 for FO. 2 are then elected from each group for a total of 4 ATL LEC Representatives. The LEC Chairman, Vice Chairman and Sec/Treas. are then elected from those 4 during the subsequent LEC Officer elections. | ||||

Council 20 DTW
Council 44 ATL
Council 81 SLC
2. Council 81 Nomination Meeting: Our nomination meeting will take place Tuesday, October 13, at the Embassy Suites Hotel, 110 West 600 South, Salt Lake City , (801) 359-7800. The meeting will start at 1000. We will also recap the October 6 regular MEC meeting, and refreshments will be served.
3. Notes Regarding Nominations and the Meeting: A Ballot Certification Committee (BCC) consisting of three council members in good standing will be selected by the council chairman from those in attendance. The BCC will distribute and collect floor nomination ballots, check all ballots for validity, and count the nominations to determine the two members who will be in the election for each position.
Following validation of the ballots by the BCC and the council chairman, the results and supporting documentation will be sent to the ALPA Membership Services Department for review and safekeeping. Shortly afterward, instructions will be sent to all council members regarding voting procedures, and the election will begin. Results of the election will be certified November 10.
The two council members who receive the most nominations for each position will become the candidates in the election for that position.
You are not required to be present at the meeting in order to qualify to become a candidate in the election.
However, all those seeking nomination will have an opportunity to address the council during the meeting.
You may wait to make a nomination until the meeting, or you may update/change your previous nomination at the meeting as there will be extra nomination ballots provided by the BCC.
Your nomination ballots must reach your council chairman by the time the nominations close at the meeting. If you mail your ballot, make sure you do so early enough so that your ballot reaches the council chairman the day prior to the meeting, Monday, October 12.
